Recap[]

One Spring day, Miss Murray tells them that it's playtime and Fuchsia hides behind Miss Murray to prevent getting caught during the game of tag. Kiku is actually looking at some of the buds that are on the bush. Fuschia discovers, noticing it is the same color as her clothes. When Little Bill and Andrew come along, they were amazed. Andrew notes it is the same bush that has been sitting in the play area every day and Little Bill asks why it is so special. Kiku shows them what is on the bush. Little Bill and Andrew start to say the word buds really fast and end up sounding really funny. The kids laugh.

Kiku shows Miss Murray the buds as soon as she shows up hearing the funny business. Miss Murray tells the kids that the buds will bloom into pretty flowers and pretty soon fill the entire bush with them. Kiku and Fuchsia love flowers more than anything, even dogs like Andrew's named Farfy, and Elephant the hampster. Miss Murray responds that she likes both plants and animals and lots of other things no matter what they are.

Little Bill wants to run around the playground but Kiku would rather play a game called Planting Flowers. She says she does that with her mother. She goes to the sandbox to plant flowers and Fuchsia agreed to help her. Kiku decides they plant them in the sun because the sun helps them grow. Fuchsia asks the boys if they want to help, but Andrew wants to go on the slide and Little Bill agrees. The two run over to the slide and start to slide down. They call for Kiku and Fuchsia and then look over at a construction site across the street. The boys make a horn sound like the construction equipment and pretend that they are constructing a building like the construction site next door.

Little Bill and Andrew are snapped out of their imagination by Fuchsia and Kiku calling for them to check out their garden, with planted shovels on the ground to pretend that they are roses. Little Bill and Andrew pretend that they roses indeed smell really lovely. They hear the construction equipment beeping next door and start to dig all the sand out of the sandbox, pretending that they are digging a hole. Shocked, Kiku and Fuchsia yell for them to stop. Now that the entire garden is messed up, Kiku starts to cry and Fuschia shouts for Miss Murray. Fuchsia tells their teacher that Little Bill and Andrew ruined the flowers that the girls planted first. Little Bill and Andrew says they are sorry because since they love contruction, they were just pretending they are construction workers. Kiku decides to plant flowers, furiously determining not to play with the boys later, tomorrow, anymore, and for life.

Andrew and Little Bill, reluctant to play construction, want to make Kiku feel better because they hate it when their friends are angry with them. Since Kiku likes flowers, they try to reach the flowers at a very high bush, but struggled. They start to pick some of the buds off of the bush for her instead, only they were unbeknownst that they were only baby flowers and therefore they were harming the bush but Little Bill and Andrew. Kiku and Fuschia both get super mad when they boys bring the buds and Kiku angrily asks why they did it and Fuschia yells for Miss Murray again.

Miss Murray hears the commotion and asks what the matter is now. Andrew and Little Bill explain what they were trying to do. Miss Murray shows them why the bush is a living thing-which Little Bill and Andrew rarely knew-just like all humans. The boys realize that Farfy and Elephant are also living things. Andrew asks Miss Murray if trees are living things and Miss Murray says yes. Little Bill asks about his sneakers but Miss Murray says they are not and Andrew asks if cars are. Miss Murray says things like those are actually nonliving because they are manmade and made by people. She says that living things are precious and have to be taken special care of, and that does include flowers. Miss Murray tells them all that the buds are just baby flowers that need to stay on the bush so they have time to grow and bloom. Little Bill and Andrew try to stick the buds back but then sadly understand that now they are dead. And Kiku and Fuschia told them it was too late and Miss Murray Finally learning their lesson, they appologize to the bush and promise never to mess with nature again OR with any kind of flowers people plant come what may and they felt bad. Kiku and Fuschia, beginning to worry about her friends even felt very bad themselves too for snapping and yelling at poor Andrew and Little Bill. Kiku and Fuschia didn’t like seeing their friends in trouble. Kiku had never meant to make them sad or left out and she overreacted. Plus, she wishes she could help it although she admires many precious things like flowers. Kiku knew that she used to like digging. One thing’s for sure was that it was no fun for the girls right now whether with or without the boys or digging or no digging. Kiku and Fuschia realized that they really hurt Little Bill and Andrew’s feelings and apologized back, knowing that they have all been the best of friends forever and they knew that playtime was indeed not the same without the boys. Kiku could not help but ask Miss Murray if they boys are sad and Miss Murray said they were and added they were very sorry for the incidents.

Kiku asked the boys if they were going to pick buds off the bush and Little Bill said they will not and Fuschia asked to never dig up their flowers again and After everyone forgave each other, Little Bill, Fuschia and Kiku decide to keep playing planting flowers, while Andrew would rather keep playing Construction. Fuchsia says she wants to as well. Little Bill tells Andrew and Fuchsia to dig the holes and then he and Kiku will plant the flowers. The children agree and they run off to play. The episode ends with all of the children playing and Miss Murray happily watching them.

In bed, Little Bill started to remember what he did today. He showed us the gold star for being a good snack helper and shows a flower he picked from Alice the Great’s garden. It was alright to pick it because it’s not a bud. It’s all grown up. Little Bill decided to give it to Kiku because yellow is her favorite color and flowers are favorite things. Alice the Great called out to Little Bill and asked who he was talking to but Little Bill laughed and the credits rolled.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time where two or more characters do things wrong.
  • This is the first time Kiku cries, the second time being in "When Friends Get Mad".
  • This is the first episode where Fuschia shouts for Miss Murray twice instead of once.
  • Miss Murray says the buds are sad that they were picked off the bush, but flower buds can't have any emotion once they are picked off the bush, because they would be dead.
  • Offscreen, Kiku and Fuchsia felt bad for hurting Little Bill and Andrew’s feelings and they saw that the boys went away very quickly like in Theodore Tugboat from "Emily and the Splash" and Kiku and Fuchsia said they were sorry for yelling at Little Bill and Andrew, who also said sorry since they learned their lesson for picking buds off the bush and Kiku and Fuchsia learned their lesson too for yelling at their friends and had learned to accept their apologies so Kiku and Fuchsia decided to apologize to them.
